The programme was initially developed in collaboration with the University of South Australia (UniSA) in 2002 and then it has been fully expanded by the lettered and experienced subject matter experts at MARA since 2005. The programme, which runs for 2 years and 6 months, offers students the opportunity to improve their competency in English language and excelling in the dynamic field of communication. The Diploma in English Communication combines all language skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) with other multi -disciplinary areas such as media, communication in the workplace and business, creative, critical and problem-solving strategies, ICT, modern human communication, international relations, human resource management, entrepreneurial skills as well as Mandarin skills as a third language.
Students will have the opportunity to prepare reports related to industry involvement through a 16-week Industrial Training course in the final semester of study. The purpose of industrial training is to emphasize the development of the students as future professionals who integrate competencies as well as performativity in their daily tasks and responsibilities.

The Diploma in English Communication (DEC) + Sijil Penterjemahan Bahasa ITBM aims to prepare students for:

• Strong Industry Exposure and Practical Training
